חוּשְׁבָּנָא

חוּשְׁבָּנָאm. = h. חֶשְׁבּוֹן, calculation, number, measurement. Targ. Ex. 30:12. Targ. Koh. 9:10 (Ms. חֶשְׁבּוֹנָא); a. e.Yoma 17b ח׳ בעלמא הוא it is merely an account of measurements (without observing a particular order). Ḥull.95b השתא ח׳ בעלמא ידע now I see only that he understands astronomical calculations. Y.Ber.II, 5a top חוּשְׁבָּנֵיה דהדיןוכ׳ the numerical value of the letters of the one (צ̇מ̇ח̇) is the same as of those of the other (מ̇נ̇ח̇ם̇). Lev.
